"Finally, MLA has updated!" exclaimed no student ever. In fact, I don't think many people here were even aware that an update was made. Most of the time, my students ask me what MLA means. I always tell them to look it up.
After putting off making a quick reference guide for our students and teachers, I finally began recreating a newer, more efficient quick reference guide for our most used types of information. I must say, I like the new changes. Taking out redundancies and creating clear order makes life simpler - like a Frank Lloyd Wright building. Just like Frank Lloyd Wright architecture, the Modern Language Association (darn, I gave away the acronyms) has to live up to its name, they must remain modern. Though, his buildings are now considered historical, but that is a moot point. Similarly, like the evolution of the world, our language must evolve. When our world evolves, so must the mighty Librarian. Happy citing children!

Yesterday, I had the privilege of teaching the computer animations class about using our 3D printer. It is always fun seeing the students get excited about how the 3D printer works. I was able to walk them through programs to create objects of their own. I can't wait to see what they will create in the next few weeks. Technology is awesome. It is so cool that we have the opportunity to keep such a useful piece of equipment in our library space. The future has arrived and Caravel students are leading the way to a better and more creative world.
